In response to a total growing ban passed by Fresno County supervisors, local cannabis activists are launching a petition drive for a referendum that would temporarily block the new law from being enforced. The ink isn’t dry on the Fresno County cannabis ban that was passed Tuesday, so it’s a little early to claim 20/20 hindsight about what it all means. Fresno County supervisors voted 5-0 today to approve an ordinance that prohibits all cannabis cultivation, both indoors and outdoors, regardless of patient status or other circumstances. Absent possible legal action, the new Fresno County cannabis ban takes effect Feb. 6.
