The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration raided a medical marijuana cooperative Thursday. A search warrant was served at For the People, 509 Ming Ave., but no other details were disclosed because the case is under court seal, DEA spokeswoman Casey Rettig confirmed Friday. The shop’s owner, Leo Resendez, said the raid occurred before noon and was conducted by the DEA and local law enforcement. Redding’s ban on medical marijuana dispensaries doesn’t have court backing after a Shasta County Superior Court judge Wednesday denied the city’s request for an order for the storefronts to close. Judge Stephen Baker denied the city’s request for the preliminary injunction that would have compelled the dispensaries to close. Fresno mayoral candidate Rick Morse and his son will stand trial on felony charges of attempted kidnapping and conspiracy for trying to handcuff and arrest a deputy city attorney involved in closing down their medical marijuana clinic, a judge ruled Tuesday.
